Homelander?
On June 16, 1955, naval aircraft bombed the capital city of Buenos Aires in an attempt to assassinate President Perón. The first wave of attacks left many dead, and a second wave of naval aircraft was on its way, but at that moment, defenders of Buenos Aires appeared from the Morón Air Base. Lieutenant Ernesto Andradas, flying his Gloster Meteor jet fighter, intercepted one of the naval AT-6 Texans. Before opening fire, Andradas gave his rival time to force it off and then shot it down. It was the first jet aircraft shot down in the history of the continent. Sadly, this pilot would lose his wings during the military coup and spend a long time in prison, thus demonstrating that one of the leading figures in the Argentine military institutions of the 20th century, no matter how skilled a military professional you are, only your political stance matters. This view only degraded the professional and military skills of our human capital throughout the 20th century, while the military institution became increasingly bureaucratic.
